Dr. Raj Sharma is a dual-fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He is recognized for introducing the Direct Anterior Approach for hip replacement to Western Canada—a technique that can offer faster recovery and reduced post-operative pain. His practice focuses on complex primary and revision joint replacement, and he integrates the latest innovations, including same-day hip and knee replacement and uncemented total knee replacement.

Dr. Sharma is a full-time academic orthopedic surgeon and Clinical Associate Program Lead at Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary. He is committed to providing patients with evidence-based care, combining advanced surgical techniques with a rigorous approach to evaluating new innovations for optimal outcomes.

Dr. Sharma serves as the Research Lead for Hip and Knee Arthroplasty in Calgary and holds a strong academic background in clinical epidemiology.
