Dr. Meldrum received his medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2014 and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Calgary in 2019. Following residency, he pursued subspecialty training in hip and knee reconstruction and orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Meldrum completed a complex hip and knee arthroplasty (replacement) fellowship at Dalhousie University in Halifax. This fellowship focused on primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, including computer-assisted surgery (navigation and robotics) and kinematic alignment in total knee arthroplasty.
He also completed an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. During his arthroplasty and trauma fellowships, Dr. Meldrum earned a Master of Education (Health Professions Education) through the University of Ottawa.
Alongside his surgical practice, Dr. Meldrum teaches as a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary and is a current Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor.
