Dr. Jesse Slade Shantz is an orthopaedic surgeon certified in orthopaedic surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, practising in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary and Edmonton. He completed his medical degree at Western University and his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Manitoba, followed by two fellowships: orthopaedic trauma at the University of California, San Francisco, and sports medicine and shoulder surgery at the University of Toronto. His practice is focused on arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder, knee and elbow, and on sports-related injuries.
Dr. Slade Shantz is the founder and Medical Director of Acumen Clinic, which he established in 2017 to provide privately funded orthopaedic care with direct access for patients. He holds an MBA from the Ivey Business School alongside his medical training, has published peer-reviewed research and book chapters in orthopaedic surgery, and reviews for Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and has been invited to teach surgical technique to other surgeons.
