Procedural expertise

About

Dr. Carlos Marois is an experienced urologist based in Quebec and the founder of Les Cliniques Marois, a network of private urology clinics serving the South Shore (St-Hubert), Laval, and Quebec City.

Board‑certified since 1998, he transitioned exclusively to private practice in 2017 after nearly two decades in major hospital centres, including 17 years as Head of Urology at Hôpital de Verdun. Dr. Marois is a pioneer in minimally invasive and endoscopic urologic surgery. His experience spans advanced open surgery, laser procedures, endoscopic interventions, and specialized male and female incontinence surgeries, including urinary artificial sphincters.

Clinical Focus & Specialties

  • Circumcision across the lifespan: Newborn, pediatric, and adolescent circumcision, as well as adult aesthetic circumcision using surgical and biological glue techniques.
  • Endoscopic urological surgery: A full range of endoscopic procedures including prostate treatments, bladder procedures, and stone management, supported by in-clinic fluoroscopy.
  • Minimally invasive urology under local anaesthesia: Minor in-clinic procedures including vasectomy, vasovasostomy (vasectomy reversal), hydrocele repair, female urinary slings, Rezum for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and transperineal prostate biopsy with fusion.
  • Sexual health for men and women: Management of erectile dysfunction (including penile implants—Dr. Marois was an early adopter of private-sector penile implants in Quebec), testosterone deficiency, female sexual dysfunction, vaginal atrophy, and bioidentical hormone replacement.
  • General urology: Kidney and bladder stones, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis, BPH, prostate cancer workup, and pediatric conditions including phimosis and buried penis.

Dr. Marois has been the principal investigator in more than 30 research protocols, with particular interest in advanced prostate cancer, overactive bladder, and obstructive urinary symptoms. He is an advocate for continuing medical education; collaborated with the Association des urologues du Québec (2009–2017), delivered numerous conferences to family physicians, and participates in consultative meetings to develop urology guidelines.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Marois has served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Barons de St-Bruno youth football program since 2015.

Dr. Marois and his colleagues at Les Cliniques Marois offer direct-access urology—patients can book a consultation without a family-doctor referral, across three Quebec locations. Surgical cases requiring general or spinal anaesthesia are performed at the Centre de Chirurgie Mont-Royal, Quebec's private surgical hospital.
