Dr. Allan Vescan is a fellowship-trained otolaryngology – head and neck surgeon based in Toronto, with a sub-specialty practice in minimally invasive endoscopic skull base surgery and rhinology, and a clinical focus that also includes endocrine surgery of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. He completed his entire postgraduate training in Canada and the United States — otolaryngology residency at the University of Toronto's Gallie Surgical Program, followed by a dedicated oncologic skull base fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, one of the highest-volume endoscopic skull base programs in North America. He has practised as an otolaryngology – head and neck surgeon at Mount Sinai Hospital since 2007 and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Toronto, where he co-directs the Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery fellowship program.

  • Advanced Endoscopic Sinus Surgery: Primary and revision endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis, recurrent sinus infections, and nasal polyps, including image-guided techniques.
  • Rhinology: Surgical and medical management of chronic rhinosinusitis (including patients with aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease and recurrent polyposis), nasal airway obstruction, and complex inflammatory sinonasal conditions.
  • Anterior & Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery: Minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal and open anterior skull base approaches for sinonasal and skull base tumours, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak repair, and complex skull base reconstruction.
  • Head & Neck Endocrine Surgery: Thyroid and parathyroid surgery, including management of thyroid cancer and parathyroid disorders.
  • General Otolaryngology & Head and Neck Oncology: General ENT consultations and surgical management of head and neck cancers within a multidisciplinary team.

Dr. Vescan sees patients at Mount Sinai Hospital in downtown Toronto (600 University Avenue, Suite 401) for his Sinai Health practice, and performs complex endoscopic and open skull base surgery at Toronto Western Hospital and other University Health Network sites. His private surgical work is performed at Clearpoint Surgical Toronto on Dixon Road in Etobicoke — an accredited surgical facility operating under an Ontario Ministry of Health private hospital license, with experienced surgical and nursing teams focused on patient safety, recovery, and a personalized surgical experience.
