About

Dr. Zameel Dewji is an otolaryngologist—head and neck surgeon (ENT) based in Coquitlam, British Columbia, in the Greater Vancouver area. He completed his medical degree and his otolaryngology—head and neck surgery residency at the University of Manitoba, where he served as Chief Resident, and he is certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Clinical Focus & Specialties

  • Coblation Turbinate Reduction: An in-office procedure for patients with ongoing nasal blockage or congestion caused by enlarged inferior turbinates. Performed under topical or local anesthesia at the Coquitlam office. Available privately to out-of-province patients and to patients without MSP coverage.
  • Intranasal PRP: An in-office platelet-rich plasma treatment delivered inside the nose, performed under topical or local anesthesia. Available privately to out-of-province and in-province patients, with and without MSP coverage.
  • Records Review in Place of a First Visit: For coblation turbinate reduction, patients who have already been examined by an ENT and have a written report may have that report reviewed in advance, so the initial in-person examination can be waived.

Dr. Dewji grew up in Coquitlam and practises in the community he is from. He is a Clinical Instructor with the Department of Surgery at the University of British Columbia.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Surgency cost?

Surgency is a free resource for patients. Surgical providers—who meet our listing standards—pay a flat fee to list on the platform. There's no commissions, referral fees, nor any ranking or recommending one surgeon over another. Surgency is patient-first. Our goal is to make the process of finding a private surgeon as simple as possible. You choose who to contact. Learn more in our Advertising Policy.

Does Dr. Dewji do virtual consults?

Yes. Virtual or in-person consults are available.

Dr. Dewji is within my home province, can they provide me surgical services?

Dr. Dewji can see patients who live outside British Columbia and are seeking private ENT care. For coblation turbinate reduction, he treats out-of-province patients and patients who are not covered by MSP, at his Coquitlam office. If you have already been examined by an ENT and have a written report, that report can be reviewed in advance and the initial in-person examination can be waived. For intranasal PRP, he sees patients from any province, with or without MSP coverage; BC residents with MSP coverage pay a reduced fee. Fees and eligibility should be confirmed directly with the clinic.

What languages does Dr. Dewji speak?

English

What are common reasons for patients to see Dr. Dewji?

Patients commonly seek Dr. Dewji's care because they may be experiencing ongoing nasal blockage or congestion from enlarged turbinates, or nasal symptoms they would like to address without an operating-room procedure, and are considering coblation turbinate reduction or intranasal PRP. Both are performed in the office under topical or local anesthesia. For coblation turbinate reduction, a written report from a previous ENT examination can be reviewed in advance so the initial in-person examination can be waived.
