Frequently asked questions

How much does Surgency cost?

Surgency is a free resource for patients. Surgical providers—who meet our listing standards—pay a flat fee to list on the platform. There's no commissions, referral fees, nor any ranking or recommending one surgeon over another. Surgency is patient-first. Our goal is to make the process of finding a private surgeon as simple as possible. You choose who to contact. Learn more in our Advertising Policy.

Does Dr. Latham do virtual consults?

Yes. Virtual or in-person consults are available.

Dr. Latham is within my home province, can they provide me surgical services?

Dr. Latham can see patients who live outside Ontario and are seeking private foot or ankle orthopedic care. If you live in Ontario, he is generally not able to treat you privately for insured orthopedic surgery in Ontario, unless the service is uninsured or another exception applies.

What languages does Dr. Latham speak?

English

What are common reasons for patients to see Dr. Latham?

Patients commonly seek Dr. Latham's expertise because they may be experiencing big toe arthritis or a bunion, a chronically damaged Achilles tendon, ankle ligament instability, or end-stage ankle arthritis, and are considering big toe fusion, Achilles tendon reconstruction, foot and ankle ligament reconstruction, or foot and ankle fusion. Dr. Latham is dual fellowship-trained in hip and knee and foot and ankle surgery at the University of Toronto, serves as Corporate Chief of Orthopaedics at Scarborough Health Network, and supervises the foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Toronto.
