Dr. Daipayan (Deep) Guha is a neurosurgeon specializing in adult spinal surgery, with fellowship training in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery.
Dr. Guha completed his medical degree and his neurosurgery residency at the University of Toronto, earning a PhD during his residency for work developing and validating a spinal image-guidance technology. He then completed a clinical fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he was appointed to the faculty. He is certified in neurosurgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Neurosurgery at McMaster University and directs its combined orthopedic and neurosurgical fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spinal surgery. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers along with textbook chapters, and his research focuses on technologies that support surgical workflow and trainee education.
