Dr. Yotis Tsaparas is a Canadian Board Certified otolaryngology – head and neck surgeon based in Greater Vancouver, with a general ENT practice and a longstanding sub-interest in disorders of the nose and paranasal sinuses, snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, and benign and malignant lesions of the face, neck, and throat. He completed his undergraduate training in microbiology at the University of British Columbia, earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Calgary in 2000, and returned to UBC for his five-year residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, completing training in 2005. He has practised in the Lower Mainland for two decades, treating both adult and pediatric patients, and is a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Faculty of Medicine and an active member of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery.

Clinical Focus & Specialties

  • Nose & Sinus Surgery: Computer-assisted (image-guided) primary and revision endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic rhinosinusitis, recurring sinus infections, and nasal polyps, balloon sinuplasty for select patients, and complex nasal reconstructive surgery for breathing and structural issues.
  • Ear Surgery: Tympanoplasty (eardrum repair) and ossicular chain reconstruction for perforated eardrums and conductive hearing loss, and myringotomy with ventilation tubes for recurrent ear infections and middle-ear effusion in children and adults.
  • Throat, Snoring & Sleep Apnea Surgery: Tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for recurrent infection, airway obstruction, or sleep-disordered breathing, and primary surgical management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea.
  • Head & Neck Lesions: Office-based assessment and surgical removal of benign and malignant lesions of the face, neck, and throat.
  • General Otolaryngology — Adults & Pediatrics: Office consultations and surgical management of common ENT concerns for both adult and pediatric patients.

Dr. Tsaparas is originally from Burnaby, British Columbia. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, fishing, and spending time with friends and family.
